Brand History

The founder's journey into jewellery began in the 1980s, assisting in his parents' Dublin shop, Elvira’s, on Talbot Street. As a teenager, he worked behind the counter, selling jewellery to local customers. Despite security measures, including a German Shepherd named Bryo, the shop eventually closed following a nighttime robbery.

Remaining in the industry through various retail and wholesale roles, he observed a resurgence in jewellery designs he had sold two decades earlier. Recognizing the cyclical nature of fashion trends, he established Burren Jewellery in 2014 to capture and reflect these emerging styles.

The brand's name was inspired by an old square-faced Buren watch from Switzerland that remained uncollected after his parents' shop closed. To avoid confusion with the original brand, an additional 'r' was added, resulting in Burren Jewellery. Coincidentally, the name also aligns with the renowned Burren landscape in County Clare, which serves as inspiration for the brand's designs.

Committed to quality, Burren Jewellery uses an 18k 3-micron gold plating in a soft champagne gold color, adhering to the French Plaqué Or standard. The jewellery is made from a brass base that is lead, nickel, and cadmium- free, ensuring hypoallergenic properties. Additionally, the brand emphasizes sustainability by incorporating recycled materials into its production process.
