Favre Leuba Watches

Authorised retailer for Favre Leuba Watches. Back in 2017, Favre-Leuba celebrated their 280th anniversary and reflected on some of the incredible innovations the brand had achieved since they were founded in 1737. As the second oldest Swiss Watchmaking company, their history is comprised of groundbreaking milestones in industries such as mountaineering, diving and the very essence of watchmaking expertise. Favre-Leuba not only have a reputation for crafting luxury timepieces with high functionality, the brand also have a unique mindset when creating new concepts, appealing to those with an attitude that doesn't accept boundaries.

Brand History

Favre-Leuba was founded back in 1737 by Abraham Favre in Le Locle, the birthplace of the Swiss Watch Industry. Favre-Leuba was run by eight generations of the Favre family until 1980 when the brand was sold. The introduction of cheap quartz movements in 1969 plunged the Swiss watch industry in to a crisis. In 2011, Favre-Leuba was purchased by Tata Group and the headquarters, which were previously in Geneva, were moved to Zug.

Favre-Leuba Style

Favre-Leuba's outstanding technological advancements also reflect in their design which was established as we know it today in the 1970s. The brand formulated a clear and expressive design which was characterised by the Sea Chief, Bivouac, Deep Blue and Bathy models. The main features of their retro-futuristic designs that are present in the collections today include the tetradecagonal bezel, the shape of the case and distinctive hands. Favre-Leuba launched several different models in the 1970s which marked their overall transition to suit the style of the time.
